Primum Familiae Vini

A Charter of Excellence

All members are animated by the same passion

PFV also represents a standard of excellence in fine wine to which all members aspire. The sharing of knowhow and experimentation individually conducted on all aspects of vine growing and wine production is incredible and valuable information, and it will undoubtedly show through in the quality of each family's wines in the longer term.

The PFV Charter

As custodians of national heritage, the members uphold regional winemaking traditions and:

- They share the challenges of running independent family businesses and passing them from one generation to the next.

- They exchange viticultural/oenological information and promote the traditional methods that underpin the quality of their wines and respect for terroir.

- They foster environmental and social responsibility in family winemaking businesses.

- They increase awareness of the benefits of moderation in the consumption of fine wines, essential for their appreciation, and for a healthy lifestyle.

Primum Familiae Vini

A shared pursuit of excellence

The success of a family wine business relies on passing on knowledge, traditions and values

A single ambition unites all the members: a passion for the pursuit of excellence. And this passion enables them, using their collective expertise, to create the next generation of fine wines.

With the mutual trust and friendship that has grown out of PFV, members of different generations exchange frank views on a wide range of matters affecting the family-owned wine businesses. The PFV also educates and train the younger generations.

What they learn from each other gives each member valuable guidance in the great task of carrying a family business through to future generations. It also confirms that they all have a strong ethic in the management of their business and respect their customers.
