To produce a wine of expression, the grape must have plenty of taste and reveal the quintessence of its aromas. All along the Perrin family has sought to maintain the vine in its own environment: the earth, the animals and the stars which exert an influence over it. To understand Château de Beaucastel's ecosystem means drawing full benefit from a gem located at the northern end of the appellation, in a cool climate, exposed to the mistral wind more than 150 days a year, on a very complex terroir composed of limestone, clay and sand. Every day, on each plot owned by the Perrin family, the aim is to stimulate the plants' physiology and its natural resistance. This unique ecosystem, which has always been preserved with enthusiasm, confers an unrivaled combination of strength, flesh, elegance and freshness to the wines.
The Perrin family gained recognition as a pioneer of an innovative approach to organic farming as early as 1950 and then of biodynamics as of 1974 at Château de Beaucastel.
