Recorded history shows Giovanni di Piero Antinori joining the Florentine Vintner's Guild in 1385. Successive generations of Antinoris produced wine and influenced the course of central Italian winemaking and wine regulations, especially in the last 30 years.

Piero, son of Marchese Niccolò, who guided operations for more than sixty years of the 20th century, has been President since 1966. He comments, ``More things have changed in the past 20 years than the previous 200. We know that using a combination of our own chianti traditions, coupled with innovation, we can produce wines with qualities they didn't have before, wines with unique complexity, charm and personality."

Today Piero's, three daughters, Albiera, Alegra and Alessia, represent the 26th generation of Antinori's active in the company.
