WINEMAKING

The Antinori production for red wines has historically been concentrated in the area of Chianti Classico in Tuscany, where it owns three estates, Santa Cristina, Pčppoli and Badia a Passignano, totaling 618 acres of vineyards.

Since the beginning of this century, Antinori has been producing white wine inthe Orvieto Classico region on its 350-acre Castello della Sala estate, where local grape varieties, Trebbiano and Grechetto and international varieties, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are produced.
In the last ten years, Antinori has acquired additional vineyards in the DOCG areas of Tuscany. It owns two estates in the area of Montepulciano, an estate in Bolgheri, in Brunello di Montalcino and Sovana, an emerging area in Southern  Tuscany.

Although primarily concentrated in Tuscany and Umbria, Antinori also invested in other areas; Piedmont, Alba, Prunotto, producing quality Piedmontese wines; California, Napa Valley, Atlas Peak, producing Sangiovese, Cabernet and Chardonnay; Hungary, Szekszard, Batāāpāti, producing quality red and white  wines. For many years, the family has owned a restaurant in the center of Florence, called "Cantinetta Antinori" located in Palazzo Antinori. Its success has lead to the opening of two other Cantinetta Antinori restaurants in Zurich and Vienna.
