A third passport holder completes his visits to all Primum Familiae Vini members,

Passport holder Sam Sarick pictured above with his wife Esther and Etienne Hugel finished his visit to all members of Primum Familiae Vini and became the third passport holder to do so, after Manfred Wagner and Arlene Willis. They completed their tour by visiting the cellars of Hugel & Fils on May 9, 2000, the house that originally issued their passport three years ago.

Passports are issued by Primum Familiae Vini members to wine lovers who share their passion for wines and excellence and usually become true ambassadors for the wines of the different families. Only an average of two passports are made available for each family per year and they can only be assigned to consumers with no trade relations with their issuing house.

Once all Primum Familiae Vini members have been visited, the passport holder receives a collection case , identical to the ones presented to King Juan Carlos of Spain and to King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. On rare occasions such cases are auctioned during a PFV charity dinner. So far less than ten of these mahogany chests have been built and they are not available anywhere for sale.
