Paris, 5th May 2003 – To celebrate its 10th Anniversary, and to present the association and its values, the members of Primum Familiae Vini have organised a series of gatherings in May with the press at some of the best restaurants in four cities across Europe. In Paris, the event is taking place at Guy Savoy, the celebrated restaurant belonging to the three-Michelin starred elite.

Primum Familiae Vini, “The Leading Wine Families”, is an international association of some of the world’s most famous and prestigious wine producing families. The countries and families represented are Germany (Egon Müller Scharzhof), Spain (Miguel Torres, Vega Sicilia), France (Château Mouton Rothschild, Maison Joseph Drouhin, Hugel & Fils, Champagne Pol Roger, Paul Jaboulet Aîné), Italy (Marchesi Antinori), Portugal (The Symington Family Port Companies) and the United States (Robert Mondavi).

To introduce the Association and the importance of its values, the Member Families have invited a select group of press for a luncheon and wine tasting in the following cities:
  • Paris, 5 May 2003 : at Guy Savoy
  • Berlin, 6 May 2003 : at the Hotel Adlon
  • Milano, 7 May 2003 : at Antica Osteria del Ponte

Most members of the PFV will be exhibiting at the international wine & spirits trade event, Vinexpo (Bordeaux, 22-26 June 20) in an independent capacity. They will however take the opportunity to improve recognition of the Association by displaying for the first time on each of their stands a plaque inscribed with the PFV symbol. This symbol, which may come to be seen as a quality standard for the trade, is designed to identify the common link between the producers, and features a website address for further information.
