| | Primum Familiae Vini is back again to 11 members,
| | As the president of the Primum Familiae Vini (PFV), I regret to inform you that due to changes in the ownership and control of the Robert Mondavi company, which has recently been acquired by Constellation Brands, Inc, the PFV accepts the resignation of the Mondavi family from our association. With their new configuration, the Robert Mondavi company no longer complies the articles of our association, which state that each member of PFV should be family owned.
Having accepted the Mondavi family's resignation, PFV will once again have eleven members instead of its statutory maximum of twelve. Our members currently are:
- Antinori, Marchesi Antinori, Tuscany, Italy.
- Incisa della Rocchetta (Sassicaia), Tenuta San Guido, Bolgheri, Tuscany, Italy.
- Drouhin, Maison Joseph Drouhin, Beaune, Burgundy, France.
- Pol Roger, Champagne Pol Roger, Epernay, Champagne, France.
- Hugel, Hugel & Fils, Riquewihr, Alsace, France.
- Jaboulet, Paul Jaboulet Aîné, Tain l'Hermitage, Rhône, France.
- Rothschild, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Pauillac, France.
- Torres, Miguel Torres, Vilafranca del Penedès, Spain.
- Álvarez, Vega Sicilia, Valbuena del Duero, Spain.
- Symington, The Symington Family Port Companies, Oporto and Douro, Portugal.
- Egon Müller-Scharzhof, Müller-Scharzhof, Wiltingen, Saar, Germany.
The remaining PFV members are very sorry for this great loss, and we wish the Mondavi family all the best in their future projects.
