WHAT´S NEW ?

PFV annual meeting and new President,

Primium Familiae Vini has just conducted its annual meeting and has appointed Marc Perrin of Château de Beaucastel as its new president for one year.

The Pol Roger and de Billy families of Champagne Pol Roger were delighted to receive their PFV friends in Epernay in early July. Many members of the different families were present including several children. A group picture is available here.

During these two days in Epernay, the PFV members decided:
- to organise a symposium in Paris on May 26, 2009 in order to exchange their ideas and share thier experience with the best European wine journalists. This symposium will be followed by a unique tasting of some of the greatest vintages from each families' best wines.
- to make their annual PFV grand trip (which consists of consumer tasting, press lunch and grand gala dinner) in November 2009 to Tokyo, Hong-Kong and Shanghai in partnership with Shangri-la hotels.
- to organise a PFV grand trip to Sao Paulo in March 2010.
- to release a PFV video which will shortly be available on this site.

Miguel Torres also did a very good presentation on climate change, its effect on the wine world and what actions should be undertaken by the wine professionals.

The annual meeting ended by a vertical tasting of Pol Roger Champagnes which included two bottles from the celebrated 1914 vintage, one having been disgorged in 1920 and the other in 2000.

The french television also attended for the programme 'zone interdite'. A video of this programme is available here.
