Primum Familiae Vini organises a series of gala dinners throughout Asia
Primum Familiae Vini is organizing a series of gala dinners in May 2002, hosted by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The events will take place in Bangkok (May, 12), Singapore (May, 14), Tokyo (May, 16) and Shangaï (May, 17).
Primum Familiae Vini, the "Leading Wine Families", also known as PFV, is an international association of some of the world's finest wine producing families from France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany and the United States. Memberships of the association, created in 1992, is by invitation only, subject to strict selection criteria.
At the gala dinners, a member of each family will present the family estate and one of its finest wines. The PFV members in attendance will be Alessia Antinori (Marchesi Antinori), Philippine de Rothschild (Château Mouton Rothschild), Laurent Drouhin (Maison Joseph Drouhin), Egon Müller (Egon Müller Scharzhof), Etienne Hugel (Hugel & Fils), Hubert de Billy (Champagne Pol Roger), Michel Jaboulet (Paul Jaboulet Aîné), Paul Symington (Graham's, Warre's & Dow's Port), Peter Ventura (Robert Mondavi), Miguel Torres (Torres) and Pablo Alvarez (Vega Sicilia).
In choosing Asia, PFV has clearly demonstrated its members' commitment to this key market. The families and four of Asia's top hotels belonging to the Four Seasons chain are offering to all those who appreciate fine wine and food a prestigious and festive event. It is also a generous occasion, since at each dinner a Primum Familiae Vini collection case, containing one bottle of each member's flagship wine, will be auctioned for a
local charity.
The families who comprise PFV share a common ambition: to achieve excellence. Each family owns vineyard estates, is one of its country's most prestigious wine producers and makes wines, which enjoy an international reputation. Each year in turn, a member of the association is elected President. The 2001 / 2002 President is Laurent Drouhin of Maison Joseph Drouhin.
The members of Primum Familiae Vini aim to defend and promote the traditions and values of family-owned wine companies, and ensure that such ideals survive and prosper for the benefit of future generations.
